How to Choose Lawn Fabric for Summer Suits

Lawn is a light, plain-woven cotton fabric with a fine, smooth finish. It is breathable and soft, which is why it is the most popular fabric for summer suits in Pakistan's heat.
Look at the thread count and feel. A good lawn drapes softly without feeling stiff or see-through. Hold it up to the light: a very sheer weave may need a lining or a darker trouser underneath.
Printed lawn is easy to wear every day and is usually the most affordable. Embroidered lawn adds thread work on the shirt, neckline and sleeves, and is better for gatherings and festive days.
Pay attention to the trouser and dupatta too. A complete set often mixes fabrics, for example a lawn shirt with a cotton trouser and a lawn or chiffon dupatta. Check the listing so you know what each piece is made of.
Before stitching, ask your tailor whether the fabric needs pre-washing, because some lawns shrink slightly. Cutting and stitching with the correct allowances keeps the fit true after the first wash.
